The
goal of the
Get the Lead Out (GLO) project is to find and fix hazards before
children get lead poisoned.
GLO
staff inspect children's homes, educate residents about how to protect their
children from lead poisoning, and encourage property owners to minimize lead
hazards.
GLO provides families with information about the lead hazards of their homes and recommendations as to how these hazards may be corrected and/or
avoided. GLO educates families as to how to protect their children from lead poisoning and provides them with cleaning kits.
GLO also works with property owners in order to support their lead hazard
reduction efforts. GLO is currently administered by
Action for a Better Community (ABC) in collaboration with the University of Rochester and the City of Rochester. For more information call
