Remember When

Do you remember a time when conservation practices were a part of your daily life? That is the mind set that we need to remember when making choices today.

Here are some conservation suggestions:

  • Use a clothes line instead of a dryer.

  • My dad always cut up paper that was only printed on one side and stapled them together to make memo pads. I think of him when I see those memo pads.

  • I turn off the water when brushing my teeth. Not everyone has the abundance of water like us and I try to remember that.

  • Turn off the lights/tv/appliance when leaving the room.

  • Wear a nightcap to bed.

  • Recycle and reuse materials-- be creative!

  • Grow your own garden/shop local.

  • Remember when we had to conserve fuel oil?

  • Stop using disposable coffee cups and water bottles.

  • Some connections to WWII conservation efforts on blog.

  • Use cloth handkerchiefs or cloth napkins.
