Review of Applications

All applicants are required to give a 10-minute presentation of the proposal to interested Environmental Health Sciences Center faculty and to the Internal Advisory Committee of the Center. An additional 10 minutes will be allotted for questions. Since the total presentation time will be 20 minutes, presentations longer than 10 minutes will detract from time of the Committee for questioning. Review procedures are similar to those used by NIH Committees. Investigators will be notified of the Review Committee results by Dr. Jacob Finkelstein with two weeks of the presentations.

Human Subjects and Animal Care Committee Approvals

Funded projects involving either human subjects or animals must obtain approval from the appropriate committee before a budget can be established. Approval is not required before considering a proposal.

Projects may be funded for a maximum of twelve months with the potential for extending the funding period by one additional year (without funds). The Principal Investigator is responsible for the proper administration of funds. Each award will be given an account number by ORPA. Funds may not be transferred between projects. The Center will not assume fiscal responsibility for overexpended budgets.
