Ph.D. Program in ToxicologyAdmissions |
| All applications to University of Rochester Ph.D. programs are submitted
on-line, via a centralized admissions process. It is not necessary for you to contact individual
faculty, although faculty are available to answer any questions that you may have. To apply,
please login to the office of the Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Education.
The main criteria that we use to judge our applicants are: 1) research aptitude, experience, and potential, 2) prior academic performance, 3) letters of recommendation, 4) interpersonal skills (including interview skills), and 5) GRE scores. Our Ph.D. students have grade point averages (GPSs) between 3 and 4, and GRE scores that are usually in the top third. All of our students receive full tuition scholarships plus a stipend throughout their studies from a combination of university and NIH grant funds, with a training grant from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (ES-07026) accounting for a major part of the support. The stipend is $26,650 as of July 1, 2012. In addition, single health plan coverage and travel to scientific meetings is provided. |
